Switch (drawer runner) maintenance
To pull out the drawer:
- Lift both latches.
- Pull to the outmost position to lock the drawer.
- To release, lift latches, push in, and it will latch shut.
Please note the runners are double telescopic and have a lockout function:
- Ensure both latch systems are lifted and engaged to avoid potential issues.
- Lift latches preemptively to prevent wear over time.
We have installed a bump stop on the back of the drawer and dampening strips on the backs of the runners to reduce play:
- The bump stop can be adjusted to minimise play.
- The dampening strips are replaceable, and we provide spares.
- You can test if these need replacing by checking there is no play when pushing the drawer in.
Best practice tips for loading:
- Load heavy items with the drawer locked out to reduce twisting of the runners.
- Load rating: 180 kilograms, evenly distributed.
Maintenance tips for the runners:
- Keep clean and dry. Remove any sawdust or sand.
- Use dry PTFE spray as a lubricant. Apply liberally monthly.
- Add grease on the latches for smooth sliding.
These instructions will apply to the Ovano Switch Narrow but also work for the Ovano Switch XL.
