VW Transporter & Transit Custom Kombi Bed Systems
Ovano kombi bed systems turn a working VW Transporter or Ford Transit Custom into a van you can sleep in, without giving up the load space: a drawer, a bulkhead and a full-width bed in one unit, fitted with nothing cut or drilled. They fit panel vans too, with the bed standing on its own legs.

How a kombi bed system works
A kombi bed sits level with the second-row seats when they're folded, so the whole rear of the van becomes a flat bed: 1,900 × 1,475mm in a short wheelbase and 2,300 × 1,475mm in a long wheelbase. In a panel van with no rear seats, the bed stands on its own legs, which come with the unit.
What makes the Switch different from a bed platform is what's underneath. A full-extension drawer, rated to 180kg, slides out past the bumper, so whatever you carry comes out to you instead of you crawling in after it. The drawer works whether the unit is set up as a bed, a half-height bulkhead or a full-height bulkhead, and changing between the three takes about five seconds.
Built for vans that do more than one job
Most Transporters are work vans during the week and something else at the weekend. The Switch is built for that: 18mm phenolic-coated birch ply, A4 marine-grade stainless hinges, threaded inserts instead of wood screws, and anti-vibration mounts so it stays quiet on the road. Every unit is made to order in our workshop in Clevedon and carries a two-year warranty.
Fitting and delivery
We fit it free at our workshop near Bristol in about an hour. Or we deliver it fully assembled on a pallet, and it can be in the van within an hour of arriving. Taking it out takes under ten minutes on a T5 or T6 and about twenty on a T7 or Transit Custom, and nothing is left behind.
Finish the setup
